Sousvide Supreme now available in Europe (Netherlands) at € 600

I was very surprised to see that the Sousvide Supreme was today available in Europe (Kookpunt.nl – Netherlands) at € 599 (incl. shipping?).
No star Chef, no Heston Blumenthal for the introductory in Europe of the so called “water oven”?
So strange that the Sousvidesupreme (USD 449 in the US) is now almost as expensive as a Grant SV100 immersion circulator and 30% more expensive than a swid! Please keep in mind that, contrary to what was said in several articles on internet, the Sousvidesupreme is not an immersion circulator but a non stirred water bath (PID controlled).

You are right, this is very bizarre. Sousvide supreme is usually doing things well with big advertising campaigns. I suspect they were not informed about it or…they are running out of money.

The sous vide supreme website is available in german and they ship for 549.95 euros …. So it’s probably available officially ….

£549 in the UK? That’s insane. There are a lot of other solutions out there for a lot less money.

$990 in Australia which equates UK Pound 83.30. I think they must think we are stupid or that we are just so rich we will pay any amount. With my limited expertise in mathematics I calculate there is nearly a 100% mark up outside the US.

I confirm the price in Europe http://www.sousvidesupreme.co.uk/product.aspx?productid=21&deptid=1&&RD=1 is EUR 599 excl. shipping! This sv appliance is not competitiv in Europe.
